Fitzgerald, a Lincoln native, played a ball from Jenna Cooper at the 52:01 mark to put the Huskers on the scoreboard and gave them a 1-0 advantage.

Just 15 minutes later, however, Michigan evened the score on a goal by Stephanie Chavez off an assist by Therese Heaton.

The two teams went to the locker room at halftime with no score and only one shot on goal per team.

The Huskers dominated the field with a 20-6 advantage in shots, but were only able to get one past the goalkeeper.  Jenna Cooper, Lindsey Ingram and Jessie Bruch all posted four shots each for the game for NU.

Nebraska posted a corner kick in all but one period, taking a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.  Fouls piled up in the contest as Michigan was called for 18 and NU received 15.

Junior goalkeeper Brooke Bredenberg played the entire game for the Huskers, giving up one goal and recording two saves.  Michigan goalkeeper Megan Tuura allowed one goal and saved five shots on the contest.

The tie puts Nebraska at 2-2-1 on the season and improves Michigan to 0-3-2.

The Huskers will face a solid Wisconsin team on Sunday afternoon at 1p.m. The Badgers were scheduled to take on Iowa State in the final match of the evening Friday at the Rocky Rococo Wisconsin Invitational.
