Lincoln -- Nebraska had 71 football players named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll as announced by the league office last week. The honor roll recognizes all Big 12 student-athletes who earned a 3.0 grade-point average or higher during the fall semester.
The contingent of Huskers was led by eight players who have been named to the Fall Honor Roll four or more times during their Nebraska careers. Quarterback Joe Chrisman, tight end Will Dabbert, rush end Chris Kelsay and tight end Kyle Ringenberg led the way, each earning their way onto the Fall Honor Roll for the fifth straight year. Rush end Demoine Adams, fullback Judd Davies, split end John Klem and rover Aaron Terpening both made the Big 12 Fall Honor Roll for the fourth time.
Davies, a junior who carries a 3.908 cumulative grade-point average, was also among nine Huskers who earned perfect 4.0 grade-point averages during the fall semester. Other players who recorded perfect fall semesters included sophomore place-kicker Sandro DeAngelis, freshman quarterback Curt Dukes, sophomore cornerback Kellen Huston, redshirt freshman rush end Nathan Krug, freshman offensive lineman Kurt Mann, junior cornerback Pat Ricketts, sophomore linebacker Chad Sievers and freshman fullback Dane Todd.
In all, 288 Husker student-athletes were named to the Big 12 Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll, including 29 who finished the semester with perfect 4.0 grade-point averages.
