Huskers Close Out Fall Season in Puerto Rico

The Nebraska women's golf team will close its fall season this weekend when it travels to Las Corabas, Puerto Rico, for the Pat Bradley Invitational.

Play begins, Friday, Nov. 1, with the opening round, while the second round will be played Saturday, Nov. 2. The third and final round at the El Conquistador Golf Course will be played Sunday, Nov. 3.

The course will play at a par of 72 and will be spread out over 5,869 yards.

The nine-team field will consist of East Tennessee State, Eastern Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Illinois, Mississippi, Nebraska, Princeton and South Florida.

Competing for the Huskers this weekend will be senior Sarah Sasse, junior Stephanie Schaefer, sophomores Beth Anne Cherry, Merynn Ito, and Stephanie Ruiz, and true freshman Jackie Beste.

Schaefer, a native of Columbus, Neb., is coming off a career-best performance at the adidas Fall Invitational last week in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Behind a career low of 2-over-par 74 in the first round, she finished in a tie for 17th place.
