College Station, TX -- The 10th seeded Nebraska women's tennis lost its opening round match of the Big 12 Conference Tournament, 4-1, to 7th seeded Oklahoma. With the loss, Nebraska finishes its season with a 13-9 record.
Nebraska took the doubles point winning two of the three matches. At the No. 1 spot, Katarina Balan and Gitte Ostermann defeated Bethany Griffin and Heather Saluri, 8-4. No. 2 Rose Ketmayura and Anne Oehme defeated Annette Bryntesson and Jessica Braver 9-8 (7-2). No. 3 Leslie Harvey and Amy Frisch lost to Anda Perianu and Melissa Mendieta, 8-1.
In singles action, Ketmayura dropped a two-set decision to Mendieta, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 5 singles. No. 4 Frisch lost to Griffin, 6-1, 6-3. No. 6 singles, Anne Oehme lost to Braver, 6-2, 6-2. No. 1 Ostermann lost to 79th ranked Perianu, 6-3, 6-3. The matches between Balan and Elena Jimova and Harvey and Bynetesson did not finish.
