Boerne, Texas -- The Nebraska women's golf team carded a final-round score of 310 to finish in a tie for seventh at the Baylor-Tapatio Springs Shootout Friday.
"We played a little bit better today," Head Coach Robin Krapfl said. "We still had a little bit of trouble with the short game."
Texas Tech won the team competition with a two-round total of 613, while Malinda Johnson of Wisconsin topped the individual leaderboard with a 144.
For the Huskers, senior Catha Fogelberg led the way with a final-round 77 for a tie for 20th. Junior Amanda Krane fired the low round of the day for Nebraska with a four-over 76 en route to a tie for 31st. Freshmen Merynn Ito and Stephanie Ruiz finished tie for 39th and 42nd places respectively, while senior Amanda Sutcliffe's second-round score of 84 put her into a tie for 49th.
"We are just making too many mistakes that are costing us strokes," Krapfl said. "Time is running out to turn it around, so we need to do some quality work this week and hopefully be prepared for our next tournament."
NU closes out its regular season April 8-9 at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic in Norman, Okla. The Big 12 Championships will take place April 19-21 in Manhattan, Kan.
