College Station, Texas -- Competing in her first collegiate outdoor meet, Nebraska freshman Becky Breisch led the Huskers with an NCAA automatic qualifying mark in the shot put and a provisional qualifying mark in the discus, winning both events at the College Station Relays on Saturday, March 16.
Breisch, from Edwardsburg, Mich., won the shot put with a mark of 53-11 and claimed the discus title with a mark of 172-6.
Junior Emily Wolken also won an event title for the Husker women with a toss of 145-0 in the javelin. Junior Brynn Lervold placed second with a mark of 140-10, while junior Katie McClellan finished fifth with a mark of 136-9.
On the men's side, Nebraska was led by sophomore Arthur Wszelaki, who won the javelin with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 230-7.
Other event winners included senior Derek Zachary, who won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 13.92 and senior Daniel Johnson, who claimed the triple jump title with a mark of 51-3.
