Livesey In Third Through First Day of Texas A&M Multis

College Station, Texas -- Nebraska senior Katherine Livesey sits in third place in the heptathlon's gold division through Thursday's action at the Texas A&M Multi-Event Festival with 3,426 points.

Livesey, who finished third in the heptathlon at the 2001 Big 12 Outdoor Championships with a personal-best mark of 5,554 points, posted a time of 13.84 in the 100-meter hurdles (1,001 points), cleared 5-8 1/2 in the high jump (903 points), recorded a mark of 36-9 1/2 in the shot put (609 points) and ran a time of 24.72 in the 200 meters (913 points) on Thursday.

Kansas State's Austra Skujyte, the defending conference champion, leads the pack with 3,542 points.

In the decathlon's gold division, Nebraska junior Casey Thom sits in 11th through the first day of action with 3,719 points. Thom, who finished seventh in the decathlon at the 2001 Big 12 outdoor meet, was led by a time of 50.20 in the 400 meters (805 points) on Thursday.

In the decathlon's bronze division, Husker sophomore Chris Richardson ranks sixth with 3,429 points, while junior Jake Kessler, a transfer from Johnson County Community College, sits in 11th with 3,291 points.

The meet will continue on Friday.
