Nebraska Dominates Creighton, 7-0

Lincoln, Neb. -- The Nebraska women's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 victory over Creighton, Tuesday at Woods Tennis Center. The Huskers' doubles squad continued to get the Huskers out to an early lead, easily defeating Creighton in all three matches.

NU continued at a high level in singles, not allowing the Bluejays get the Bluejays more than two points in a set.

Leslie Harvey (San Diego, Calif.) took over the rotating No. 1 spot and defeated Megan Kowal, 6-0, 6-1. After losing her first college match, Elissa Kinard (Charleston, S.C.) rebounded by defeating Divya Bala 6-2, 6-2. Ndali Ijomah (Seattle, Wash.) took over the No. 3 spot defeating Meggan Green, 6-0, 6-0. At the No. 4 spot, Katarina Balan (Belgrade, Yugoslavia) beat Pam Gerik, 6-1, 6-0. Amy Frisch (Crescent, Ky.) defeated Lauren Woodward 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 5 spot, and at the No.6 spot, Stacey Tomkiewicz (Ojah, Calif.) defeated Kelly Kielbowicz 6-1, 6-1.

In doubles action, Rose Ketmayura and Balan continued their winning streak by defeating Bala and Green 8-2. Leslie Harvey and Kinnard teamed up to defeat Kowal and Gerik, 8-1, while Ijomah and Rebecca Harvey defeated Woodward and Kielbowicz 8-3.

With the victory, the Huskers improve to 3-0. NU's next dual will be Saturday, at 2 p.m., against Indiana State, and then Sunday, at 9 a.m. against Montana State. Both duals will be held at the Woods Tennis Center.
