Huskers Fall To Baylor

Waco, Texas (AP) - Baylor's DeMarcus Minor hit a pivotal 3-pointer with 3:35 left in the game to kill a Nebraska rally and put the Bears up by six and an eventual 69-58 win over the Cornhuskers on Saturday.

Minor, who led the Bears with 17 points, was one of four Baylor players to score in double figures.

Wendell Greenleaf and Chad Elsey each added 13, and Terry Black had 12, for the Bears (15-6, 4-6).

Nebraska (11-12, 4-6) had two players with career-high efforts. Brian Conklin scored a game-high 18 points, including five 3-pointers, while John Robinson had 12 points. Steffon Bradford added 11 points and 6 rebounds.

Baylor, which led 36-26 at the half, had a 12-point lead with 10:39 left in the game on a 3-pointer by Greenleaf.

The Cornhuskers, led by Conklin's three 3-pointers, went on a 14-5 run to close within 57-56 with 5:02 left.

But a pair of free throws by Greenleaf and Minor's key 3-pointer pushed Baylor's back to six at 62-56. Nebraska would get no closer than four the rest of the way.
