Balan and Frisch Fall in First Round of Riviera Championships

Riviera, Calif-Juniors Katarina Balan and Amy Frisch of the Nebraska women's tennis team fell in the first round of action Saturday at prequalifying for the Riviera Women's All-American Championships in Riviera, California. Frisch fell to Maren Mueller of Pepperdine in a hard fought match, 5-7, 6-2, 6-1, while Balan fell to Liesl Fichtbaur of Fresno State, 7-6, 6-3.
In doubles action, Frisch and Balan recieved a bye in the first round and will face Fitchbauer and Kelly Ramierez of Fresno State at noon.
