Columbia, Mo. -- Despite 21 points and 11 rebounds from Kimani Friend, the Nebraska men's basketball team fell to Missouri, 86-72, Wednesday evening in front of 10,591 fans at the Hearnes Center.
Friend tied his career high with 21 points on 8-of-10 shooting en route to posting his eighth double-double of the season. Steffon Bradford and Louis Truscott added 12 points each as Nebraska dropped to 11-17 overall and 4-11 in the Big 12.
Kareem Rush led all scorers with 23 points for Missouri, which improved to 17-10 on the season and 10-5 in the Big 12, while Clarence Gilbert added 19 points, including five 3-pointers, for the Tigers.
Trailing 44-42 at halftime, the Huskers stayed within striking distance of MU until Gilbert connected on a pair of 3-pointers, giving the Tigers a 61-49 lead with 13:11 remaining. The Tigers would lead by as many as 21 points in the half as the Huskers fell to 0-8 on the road this season.
Nebraska closes out the Big 12 portion of its schedule this Saturday as the Huskers travel to Texas A&M for a 12:45 p.m. contest with the Aggies.
