Kentucky Invitational Results

The Nebraska rifle team competed at the University of Kentucky Invitational Rifle Match on Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999. The match, which took place over three weekends, featured 26 teams.

Nebraska's Nicole Allaire took fourth place in the smallbore competition after firing a 1,168. Amanda Trujillo shot a 1,147 to place 22nd, Victoria Ridge took 56th with a 1,123 and Rachel Spiry finished 82nd with a 1,098. The team's smallbore score of 4,536 put them in sixth place, 109 points behind Alaska-Fairbanks, the 1998 NCAA champion.

In the air rifle competition, Nebraska shot a 1,546 led by Trujillo, who placed fourth with a 390 out of a possible 400. Allaire finished sixth with a 389, followed by Ridge, who took 19th with a 384 while Terim Richards rounded out the scoring firing a 383 to take 21st. Rachel Spiry, competing as an individual, fired a 377 to place 51st. The Huskers' second-place finish was just 17 points shy of first-place Alaska-Fairblanks.

The Huskers' overall match total, air rifle and smallbore scores of 6,082 combined put them in fifth place. Alaska-Fairbanks ran away with the title, scoring 6,208 points.
