Thirty-nine Huskers named to Academic All-Big 12 Team

Dallas, Texas- Thirty-nine Husker student-athletes, including 34 first-team selections were named to the track and field Academic All-Big 12 team by the league office today.

The Nebraska women placed 24 on the academic first-team, leading the conference, while putting two on the honorable-mention team. The Husker men earned 10 first-team honors and three honorable-mention awards.

Twenty-four of the honored Huskers are repeat performers on the academic team. Jenna Lucas (Rapid City, S.D.) earned a 4.0 GPA in biological sciences to highlight the Husker women. Rich Roeser (Grand Island, Neb.) leads the men with a 3.897 GPA in pre-physical therapy.

Members of the all-academic teams have posted at least a 3.0 grade-point average (either cumulative or the previous two academic semesters) and are letterwinners on their respective teams. First-team honorees are letterwinners who have at least a 3.2 grade-point average, while those student-athletes with grade-point averages of between 3.0 and 3.19 are listed as honorable mention.
