Devaney Center Indoor Track

The Nebraska track and field team trains and competes at some of the top facilities in the country. The Devaney Center Indoor track is on of nine hydraulic-banked tracks in the nation. Named after longtime NU Athletic Director and football coach, the Devaney Center boasts an impressive array of training, competitive, and spectator amenities, highlighted by a hydraulic-banked track.

Manufactured by Mondo USA, the track was part of a $2.979 million renovation in 2000. Hawkins Construction of Omaha was the contractor in charge of the project, which was finished 44 days ahead of schedule.

The facility received a $1.1 million dollar facelift prior to the start of the 2011 season as the oval was resurfaced, the interior was repainted, new lights were installed and a 24x14-foot video board was hung.

One of nine hydraulic-banked tracks in the nation, NU's 200-meter track has the largest radius (67 feet) of any indoor-banked track in the world. The banks and all the running surfaces rest on a sleeper system, which is made of both steel (banks) and wood (straightaways) frames.

The Devaney Center accommodates up to 5,000 spectators for all track and field events and new bleachers were installed prior to the 2012 season.

The Devaney Sports Center has played host to a number of the country's premiere track and field events, having hosted the final Big Eight Indoor Championships in 1996 and the first-ever Big 12 meet in 1997. Nebraska played host to the Big 12 Indoor Championships nine times in 15 years, including six straight championships from 2001 to 2006 and 2011. The Husker women won the team title in the team's final season in the Big 12 Conference. The Big Ten Indoor Championships came to the Devaney Center in 2012, the Huskers' first season as a member of the Big Ten.

Strength & Conditioning

The Nebraska track and field team utilizes the David and Carol Alloy Strength Complex. The model strength and conditioning program in the nation, Husker Power plays a major role in the continuing success of Nebraska Athletics. Nebraska's strength program was the first in the nation, and their facilities have set the standard in collegiate athletics since the early 1970s.

Locker Room and Lounge

Prior to the start of the 2013 season, the Nebraska track and field team received a $180,000 renovation to its 5,400 square-foot locker room. The locker rooms were originally constructed in 1981 and had previously not received any updates before this project. Prior to the renovation, the floor was originally six separate rooms that were used in a variety of ways including hospitality, golf locker rooms and visiting team locker rooms. The original space dedicated to each men's and women's team was about 1,200 square feet. After the renovation, the men's and women's teams each have their own 2,700 square foot locker room and lounge.
