Postgame Quotes vs. Michigan (Sept. 30, 2023)
Michigan 45, Nebraska 7

On what the team can take away from today’s game:
“I think Michigan shows us what we can become. I think because today, their program is eight years in with Coach Harbaugh. Under the next few years with Coach Rhule I think that’s what he can turn this place into and it shows what it’s going to take. Obviously we can’t have penalties, we can’t have missed assignments, we can’t all try to win the game with one play. We just have to stick with each other and do our job.”

On the mentality for this next week’s match up:
“Our mentality is 1-0 and that’s our goal, is to go 1-0 every week. Michigan is just a really good team and I have a lot of respect for them. It doesn’t matter who you put in front of us, we’re going to play our butts off for whoever is in front of us.”

On Michigan’s run game and how that affected the game:
“It was just a lot of missed assignments, guys not being in the right gap. I’m there included and sometimes I’m not in my gap or I’m not supposed to gap in half, and make the play. I think it comes down to technique and like I said, guys are letting the moment get too big for us at some points in the game. I think after half time we came out, we had put together a couple solid drives, and that showed that we could do this. We just needed eleven guys to do their job.”

On the response after today’s game going into this next week:
“Coach Rhule’s mentality is what’s next. Tomorrow we come in, we’re going to watch film, we’re going to recover, we’re going to lift and we’re going to practice for Illinois. We’ve got to learn quickly how we did and we can’t be sensitive about what we put on tape because we did it. We’ve just got to take accountability and move on, make sure we fix it this week.”
