Postgame Quotes vs. Northern Illinois (Sept. 16, 2023)
Nebraska 35, Northern Illinois 11

On how the game felt overall
"It felt great. Like I said last week scoring and helping contribute to the team in like you said, a meaningful way, is always great. It felt great to go do what I've been working towards."

On the importance of his relationship and connection with Heinrich Haarberg
"More than you know. That helps a lot and just the fact that we've lived together up until a few months ago we finally moved out and kind of parted ways but we had a bond build already. Everything is there we just have to light up the show. That's what we did."

On what he was seeing on the pass play on the sideline
"I was just trying to make a play. He threw it. He said that he saw me come out of nowhere. He threw it a little out of bounds where I could get it so that's what I did. It was a big turning point I felt like and momentum at third down and third and 15. I think it helped set the tone for that drive. It was big for him and me for sure."

On what Heinrich’s success means to him
"It means everything. I told him that today. Obviously I haven't played a lot either. I told him I was proud of him. It means a lot to me just to see him go out there and be successful. I think today he flipped a switch. I have seen him in a lot of different moments and today he flipped a switch a took control of the game. He made the game his. It is something to build off of. I'm glad that he did that because he took a leadership role and ran with it. I think he did a great job."
