Postgame Quotes vs. Purdue (Oct. 29, 2023)
Nebraska 31, Purdue 14

On these past few months and coming back from injury
“I understood why they didn’t want to make me a starter and I accepted that. It’s kind of like my freshman year I was trying to give them reason to get me on the field. That heavy personnel package I come in and I knew that whatever they were gonna give me I was gonna take that and run with it. You never know what your time is going to be but once it was ready I was prepared for it.”

On three offensive line injuries and prepping for Purdue
“We lost three in one game. It kind of was the whole o-line. We said all hands on deck. Whatever you were doing beforehand you have to ramp it up. Nothing was gonna be good enough. You have to be able to exceed the standard that you set the week prior. That’s something that all the coaches preach and as a group we kind of embraced that and brought it this week’s preparation.”

On playing with the young offensive line
“Today it was an up and down game. A lot of ups but there was also downs. One of the things the veteran guys have to push on the younger guys like the younger wide receivers and running backs is you have to stay right down the middle. Stay calm, cool and collected throughout the game. You can’t go crazy so that’s something you have to put on the young guys on the whole team.”
