Sara Wettstein

Sara Wettstein joined Nebraska Athletics as an assistant athletic trainer in July of 2026. Wettstein is responsible for serving the Husker Flag Football program.

Prior to Nebraska, Wettstein worked for Arizona State from 2023-26 as an assistant athletic trainer. Wettstein served the cross country and track and field programs (2024-26). She also spent one season working with women's triathlon, where they won a National Championship, and assisted with the swim and dive coverage (2023-24). 

Wettstein spent one year working for a local high school in Gilbert, Arizona, before joining the Sun Devil staff.

Wettstein earned her bachelor's of science in exercise physiology in 2021 from Marquette University as well as her master's of athletic training in 2022. 

Sara, originally from Middleton, Wisconsin, is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and holds certifications in Graston Technique M1 and Personalized Blood Flow Restriction Rehabilitation. 

In her free time, Sara enjoys traveling, reading and learning new crafts.
