Samantha Drake or “Chef Sammie” joined the Huskers in Fall of 2019 and is currently the Assistant Sports Dietitian/Sports Chef working with Rifle and Bowling, while assisting all the sports RDs with various fueling needs and projects throughout the year.
Drake co-manages the front of the house and the cold fueling operations of the training table and helps with inventory, ordering and production of the cold areas and front of house, while maintaining the highest quality of food safety and sanitation and managing students.
Drake implemented a vegan menu, including several allergen-friendly options to accompany the various and delicious choices at the training table. In her time at Nebraska, Drake also started the student-athlete cooking competitions and What’s That Wednesdays?
Drake studied culinary nutrition & dietetics at Johnson and Wales University and is a registered dietitian with a unique set of skills, including being a classically trained culinarian with an emphasis in culinary nutrition.
