Dr. Quincy Davis joined Nebraska Athletics as an athletic counselor in June 2026. Davis is responsible for providing integrated mental health and mental performance services to Husker student-athletes. In his role, Davis delivers individual counseling, performance consultation, and outreach efforts supporting athlete well-being and performance optimization. His areas of focus include mindfulness, performance anxiety, emotion regulation, stress management, athlete transition and adjustment, diversity, equity and inclusion and BIPOC mental health.
Davis joins the Huskers after serving as the Assistant Director of Counseling and Sport Psychology at Mississippi State from 2023-2026. Davis managed an integrated clinical and sport-performance caseload serving men's basketball, track and field, cross country, softball and men's golf student-athletes. He also provided comprehensive clinical assessment, treatment planning and care coordination.
Davis has his master's degree in counseling (with an emphasis in school counseling) from Northern State University and his Ed.D in sport and performance psychology from the University of Western States. He is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and a certified mental performance consultant (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.
Quincy and his wife, Caitlin, have three daughters (Emery, Leila and Alivia).
