Payton Otterdahl

Payton Otterdahl was named a volunteer assistant for the Nebraska track and field coaching staff prior to the 2026 season and assists with the Husker throwers. 

Otterdahl is a two-time Olympic shot putter, finishing 10th at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo and fourth at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. 

Otterdahl competed collegiately at North Dakota State under Justin St. Clair from 2015-19. He was a two-time NCAA Champion and a six-time All-American. Otterdahl won both the shot put and weight throw titles at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Championships, becoming the second man ever to win both titles in the same season. 

A native of Rosemount, Minn., Otterdahl placed fifth at the 2023 World Athletics Championships.
