Nick Bisconti, PsyD, joined Nebraska as an Athletic Psychologist in August 2026.
Dr. Bisconti works with the wrestling, women's basketball, track and field, cross country, and men's and women's gymnastics programs. He provides individual mental health and sport performance services to student-athletes, as well as performance consultation to coaches and athletic staff. His areas of focus include mental toughness, performance anxiety and emotion regulation, stress management, and navigating challenging relationships.
Prior to arriving at Nebraska, Dr. Bisconti completed his postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University during the 2025-26 academic year, where he served as a Clinical Sport Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow in an embedded role within the athletics department. In that position, he provided integrated clinical and sport-performance services to student-athletes in wrestling, beach volleyball, lacrosse, men's and women's track and field and cross country, and men's and women's rowing. He also completed a pre-doctoral internship at Washington State University's Counseling and Psychological Services during the 2024-2025 academic year, where he provided individual mental health services to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as student-athletes.
Dr. Bisconti earned his PsyD in clinical psychology from the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium in June 2025. He completed his undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley in 2020, where he was a member of the Division I men's water polo team and won an NCAA Division I national championship in 2016. Bisconti was also a member of the USA Men's Water Polo national team, competing in international competitions from 2014-18.
