Mitzi Lenz

Mitzi Lenz has served the Nebraska Athletic Department since January of 2013, and was most recently promoted to Chief of Staff in January of 2026. Lenz had served as the Executive Assistant to the Athletic Director since April of 2024.

Prior to her current role, Lenz supported Nebraska's Capital Planning and Construction department beginning in July of 2019. She also previously served as Executive Specialist from January of 2013 to July of 2018, providing executive level administration support to the athletic director.   

Before joining the Nebraska athletic department staff, Lenz spent nearly two years as an administrative technician in the UNL Communications Office after working for Lincoln Public Schools for nine years.

Lenz in originally from Hyannis, Neb., and majored in art at Nebraska before obtaining her real state license in 1998.
Mitzi and her husband, Peter, have one daughter, Erin, and one son, Tyler.
