Marcus Castro-Walker

Marcus Castro-Walker joined the Nebraska program in February of 2021 as the Huskers’ director of player development. In his role on Scott Frost’s staff, Castro-Walker develops, implements and monitors an effective student mentoring program for Husker football student-athletes. Castro-Walker works closely with Frost to manage and oversees many off-field responsibilities for Nebraska players.

Castro-Walker spent the previous four years as the director of college personnel at Arizona State, working on Herm Edwards’ staff. Previously, he worked in a similar role on Frost’s staff at UCF.

Castro-Walker also previously worked at Arizona State, beginning his time at Sun Devil Athletics with the Office of Student-Athlete Development (OSAD) in June 2008 as a graduate assistant while obtaining his master’s degree in Higher and Post-secondary Education at ASU. Upon graduation (2011) from his master’s program, Castro-Walker was hired full time to work with the football team as an academic coach. He assisted students in securing necessary academic support and life skills training to assure quality academic decision making and to support their personal development.

Castro-Walker is a graduate of Eastern Washington University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in communication studies. He was born in Toronto, Canada, before moving to Pullman, Wash.
