Lucas Novotny joined the Nebraska Athletic Department in October of 2014 and is an assistant strength coach for the Huskers. Novotny is in charge of all aspects of strength and conditioning for Nebraska’s baseball and women’s soccer programs. Novotny is in his second stint at Nebraska, as he was an intern for the Huskers in 2012.
Originally from Hillsboro, Ill., Novotny came to Nebraska from the HitDawg Baseball Academy, where he was the strength and conditioning coordinator. He has also served as a graduate assistant at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, was an intern at Saint Louis University and the head strength coach for six teams at Lindenwood University.
Novotny has a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a master’s degree in exercise physiology. He also has CSCS certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and USAW certification through the U.S. Olympic Committee.
