Lauren Meyers was hired as Assistant Director of Sports Analytics in July of 2018. Meyers works with Nebraska’s 24 varsity sports to collect, analyze and summarize data related to team and individual performance.
Prior to coming to Nebraska, Meyers was a graduate assistant for the Rockhurst University women’s basketball team for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. She also worked as a business apprentice at Cerner, a supplier of health information technology solutions and services in Kansas City, Mo. from March 2017 to June 2018.
Meyers attended Rockhurst University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2016, master’s degree in business intelligence and analytics in 2017 and master’s degree in business administration in 2018. While at Rockhurst she was on the Hawks' women's basketball team for four years, setting records in career points, rebounds and assists. Meyers then used her fifth year of eligibility to play volleyball while working toward completing her master's degrees.
Meyers has deep ties to Nebraska, as her parents, Paul and Laurie, each graduated from Nebraska. Paul played baseball for the Huskers and worked in the athletic department for 20 years. Her younger brother, Jake, also played baseball at Nebraska and was drafted by the Houston Astros in 2017.
