Kevin Herbel

Kevin Herbel was the director of planning and reporting for the Nebraska Athletic Department from 2003 to 2023. Herbel was responsible for audit planning and oversight, NCAA financial reporting and the EADA survey. He developed and coordinated business processes with various departments and University databases. He developed and maintained the Athletic Department's financial reporting system.
 
Before joining the athletic department staff, Herbel was an auditor with operations analysis for two years and was a financial specialist with the Student Unions from 2000 to 2002. Previously, he was an auditor with the Nebraska Department of Revenue and a tax analyst with Metromail Corporation.
 
Herbel, who passed the Certified Public Accountant exam in 1987, is originally from Scottsbluff and earned his bachelor’s degree from Nebraska in 1980. He and his wife Barb, have two daughters, Kelli and Stacey.
