Josh White joined the athletic department in January of 2006 as the director of compliance, and was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Planning in August of 2007.
White is responsible for coordinating all facets of the rules-compliance education program for coaches, student-athletes, staff and boosters. White also helps set policy, develops goals and objectives and assists in creating strategic plans for the compliance unit at NU. He also assists with the investigation and documentation of NCAA, Big 12 Conference and institutional rules infractions.
White also works to help develop Nebraska's planning initiatives to streamline organizational processes while also developing NU's goals for the future. Most recently, White helped coordinate the five-year Athletic Department Strategic Plan (2008-13).
Before joining the Husker athletic department, White was the associate director for membership services at the NCAA from 2002 to 2006. While there he supervised the day-to-day operations of the Division I athletics certification program. He was the lead administrator for new staff training and professional development within the office. White also was involved in the interpretation of NCAA rules, performed compliance reviews and was a presenter at NCAA regional compliance seminars.
From 1999 to 2002 White worked as the compliance director at Nebraska-Omaha. He supervised all areas of the compliance program, and served as the athletic department academic coordinator.
White received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Nebraska in 1995 and went on to earn his juris doctorate from the Nebraska College of Law in 1999.
A native of Reno, Nev., White and his wife, Jenn, have a son, Leo. Jenn is originally from Omaha.
