Jill Abbott joined the Nebraska Athletic Department as an assistant academic counselor in June of 2017. She serves as an academic counselor and mentor for a variety of teams at Nebraska. Abbott also assists with aspects of the tutorial program and letterwinners.
Prior to coming to Nebraska, Abbott was a graduate teaching assistant in the College of Education at Kansas State University. She was also a graduate assistant academic counselor for K-State Athletics, where she worked with the baseball, women’s basketball, women’s soccer and volleyball teams during the 2016-17 academic year.
A Kansas native, Abbott graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, in addition to a bachelor’s degree in human development and family science, in 2013. She also graduated from Kansas State University with a master’s degree in counseling and higher education administration in 2017.
