Jessie Gardner joined Nebraska Life Skills in July 2011 as Life Skills Coordinator. Gardner previously worked in Life Skills and Student Services at the University of Central Florida under the direction of former Husker track and field student-athlete Marcus Sedberry.
Gardner serves as the Life Skills Sport Counselor for football, men's and women's track and field, soccer, men's and women's gymnastics and swimming and diving.
Gardner facilitates community outreach requests seeking student-athletes, and serves as the adviser of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, a member of the Social Media Monitoring Committee and as the Department representative. She directs the Student-Athlete Career Fair, Senior Session, and Life Skills Theatre group, and codirects the Networking Night. She also assists with the Husker Life Seminar and HERO Leadership Breakfast.
Gardner was a soccer student-athlete at Central Florida from 2004 to 2008, serving as a captain during her senior season.
Gardner has earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Central Florida. She graduated in 2008 with her bachelor of arts in interpersonal communication. She completed her MBA in 2010 and earned a master's degree in sports business management from the DeVos Sports Business Management Program in May 2011.
