Jeff Blatnick spent the 1982-83 season with the Huskers as a graduate assistant coach under Bob Fehrs. Blatnick, working primarly with the heavyweights, guided Nebraska to a 17-4 dual mark and a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
Blatnick was a former assistant at North Dakota State and wrestled at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. before that. He was an NCAA Division II national champion in 1978 and 1979 and a runner-up in 1977. He placed sixth in the Division I meet in 1978 and was third in 1979.
Blatnick was on the 1980 Olympic Greco-Roman team and placed second in the 1980 World Cup.
