Jared Hertzel

Jared Hertzel rejoined Nebraska Athletics as the Director of Sports Turf, Grounds and Landscape in June 2025. He previously served as the turfgrass manager in 2009.

Originally from Lincoln, Jared attended Wayne State College for two years, where he was a member of the Wildcat baseball team. He returned to Lincoln to complete his bachelor's degree in horticulture with a turf emphasis, at the University of Nebraska.

Following his graduation in 2006, Hertzel worked as the assistant turf manager at Haymarket Park. Jared and his wife, Brenda, have a daughter, Lily, and a son, Wyatt.
