Gordon Thomas spent one season as Nebraska's Director of Football Operations in 2023. In his role, Thomas played a leading role in the day-to-day operations of the football program. He had operational experience at four different Power Five programs.
Thomas came to Lincoln after serving as the Assistant Director of Football Operations at LSU under first-year head coach Brian Kelly in 2022. Thomas spent the 2021 season as the Assistant Director of Football Operations at Georgia Tech under Head Coach Geoff Collins. He also served in the same role at USC for two seasons in 2019 and 2020.
Thomas began his career at Temple, his alma mater. He was a football operations/recruiting assistant with the Owls in 2018 following his playing career. Thomas was an offensive lineman at Temple from 2014 to 2017, playing his first three seasons under Matt Rhule. Thomas played in 11 games with the Owls, including a start against Army in 2017. In the classroom, he was a three-time member of the American Athletic Conference All-Academic team.
Thomas earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Temple in 2018 and also earned his master's degree in sport administration from Ohio University in 2023.
