One of the most outstanding Nebraska gymnasts, Emily Wong enters her first season as a student assistant coach for the Nebraska gymnastics team. Wong will assist in many areas including conditioning and team management.
In her final season last year Wong, recorded one of the best senior seasons in school history. Through the regular-season she captured 32 event titles and tabbed some of the top scores in the country. Wong continued to stockpile honors both in the gym and the classroom, as she was selected as Nebraska’s Female Student-Athlete of the Year, the Big Ten Gymnast of the year and a Honda Award Finalist and finally Wong was named the 2014 AAI Award winner, an award given to the most outstanding gymnast in the country.
Hailing from Grand Forks, N.D., Wong is a nutrition science major and psychology/child, youth and family studies minor. She expects to graduate in December, 2014 and wishes to pursue her education to become a physical therapist.
