Doug Samuelson

Doug Samuelson joined the Nebraska Athletic Department as a guest relations/security attendant in May of 2014.

In his role, Samuelson serves as one of the first in-person contacts for daily visitors to the Athletic Department, while providing a safe environment for Nebraska’s student athletes and staff members.

A lifelong Nebraskan, Samuelson has placed a priority on community service, having been a Grand Island City Councilmember from 1997-2000 and since 2005, serving on the Lower Platte South Natural Resources District Board.  In his free time, he umpires USSSA, High School and American Legion baseball.

A 1975 UNL graduate, Samuelson has been the public address announcer for the Husker wrestling program since 2003.
