Damon Benning

Damon Benning is in his first season as Nebraska's director of player development/brand strategy in 2026.

Benning joined the Nebraska staff after working in media and serving as a high school coach in Omaha. Benning spent four seasons as a member of the Huskers Radio Network football broadcast, and his media career included a background in both radio and TV with Hurrdat Sports, the Big Ten Network and Nebraska Public Media.

As a player, Benning was a four-year letterwinner at running back for the Huskers and was a part of two national championship teams. The 1996 Orange Bowl MVP, Benning ran for more than 1,500 yards as a Husker.
