Brandon Bonilla enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach for Nebraska, after being highly involved with the Texas A&M women's soccer program.
Bonilla's duties with the Huskers include assisting in day-to-day coaching of student-athletes, managing the field operations during
home games and aiding Crittenden in running NU summer camps.
A 2007 graduate of A&M with a bachelor's of science in agricultural leadership and development, Bonilla spent all four years of college assisting with multiple aspects of the Aggies' program. While a student manager, he dealt with equipment and field operations for two years, before training two additional managers. He also served as a coach and equipment manager at summer camps, providing instruction to children from age 14 to 18.
As a coach, Bonilla has spent the last five years with the Aggieland Soccer Club, mentoring several girls and boys teams to top performances at the state level. He has also coached the Texas A&M women's club team the past two seasons, including leading the team to an undefeated 14-0-1 campaign in 2008-09.
Bonilla is certified by the U.S. Soccer Federation with his "C" license.
