Audrey Polt joined the Athletic Department as Associate Athletic Director for Legal Affairs/Associate General Counsel in May of 2025. In this role, Polt provides comprehensive legal support to Nebraska Athletics, advising on a wide range of legal, regulatory, compliance, and administrative matters impacting collegiate athletics. Her work includes counsel on NCAA and conference compliance issues, Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) matters, contract drafting and negotiation, coach and staff employment matters, Title IX, risk management, student‑athlete matters, facility and event operations, and policy development.
Before joining Nebraska Athletics, Polt has served as served as Associate General Counsel for the University of Nebraska since 2018. In that role, she handled contract matters, including drafting, negotiating and reviewing a wide variety of contracts. She has worked directly with athletics in that tenure, advising on various legal, regulatory, compliance and administrative matters related to athletics.
Previously, she worked as assistant legal counsel for the University of Nebraska Foundation and an adjunct professor for the Nebraska College of Law. In 2016, she was recognized by the Nebraska Alumni Association and earned an Early Achiever Award, an honor which recognizes young graduates who have excelled professionally in their field.
Polt graduated from UNL with highest distinction, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in English and Women’s and Gender Studies in 2009. Audrey then attended the College of Law where she graduated in 2012 with distinction and was elected by the law college faculty to the Order of the Barristers. She earned the Outstanding Student Award for her contributions to the law school.
