Anthony Crespino spent five months as Nebraska's Director of Football Operations in the winter and spring of 2024. Crespino played a leading role in the day-to-day operations of the football program.
Crespino joined the Huskers after spending the previous two seasons at TCU where he served as the football program’s general manager. During his time with the Horned Frogs, TCU reached the College Football Playoff Championship game following the completion of the 2022 season.
Crespino also worked with Coach Sonny Dykes at SMU for four seasons from 2018 to 2021, where he served as the football chief of staff.
Before his time in the DFW area, Crespino worked in football operations at several schools. He spent two years (2016-17) as assistant director of football operations at Northwestern and two seasons (2014-15) at Texas State as the director of football operations and director of player personnel. It was his second stint with the Bobcats, having also served in San Marcos in 2012 as an assistant director of football operations and recruiting coordinator.
Prior to his return to Texas State, Crespino was the director of player development at Penn State in the spring of 2014 and the director of operations at Western Michigan in 2013.
Crespino earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration in 2012 from Pittsburg State, where he served in various positions in the athletics department. He earned a master's of leadership from Pittsburg State in 2016.
Crespino and his wife, Joanna, live in Lincoln with their daughter, Quinn. Crespino’s father, Craig, and grandfather, Frank Crespino, were both respected high school coaches and are Kansas High School Hall of Fame inductees.
