Alvin Banks

Alvin Banks serves as an associate director of academics with Nebraska's Academic Performance Team, where he supports the academic and overall development of Husker student-athletes.

Banks joined Nebraska's Academic Performance Team in 2003 after serving two years as an assistant academic counselor.

In his current role as associate director for student-athlete development, he provides academic, athletic, personal and career counseling to Nebraska student-athletes. He primarily works with the women's bowling, men's golf, women's swimming and diving and wrestling teams.

Prior to joining the Academic Performance Team, Banks served six years as a law enforcement officer for the City of Lincoln. He is currently a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics.

A Nebraska football letterwinner, Banks competed for the Huskers during the 1991 season. He earned his bachelor's degree in business management from Nebraska in 1992 and a master's degree in vocational education in 1998.

Banks and his wife, Lisa, have two children, Kaylie and Darius.
