Alexis Cherry joined Nebraska Athletics as a content tutor in August of 2022 before transitioning into an academic assistant role in August of 2023. She transitioned into her current role as an assistant academic counselor in May of 2025.
In her current role, Cherry works alongside both learning specialists and academic counselors, taking on the roles of advising and mentorship of student-athletes, managing daily operations of the tutor program, and assisting with other duties as assigned by the department.
A native of Genoa, Neb., Cherry graduated from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln with a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education (B.S.) in 2025. Cherry is set to earn her Master of Arts in Educational Administration with a specialization in Higher Education in May of 2027.
