Adam DiMichele

Adam DiMichele is in his fourth season on the Nebraska staff in 2026. He serves as the assistant secondary coach for the third straight year after spending his first season as an offensive analyst.

DiMichele boasts 14 years of coaching experience, including eight years on Matt Rhule's staffs at Temple and Nebraska. DiMichele has coached offense and defense while also working in recruiting and player development.

In his two years working with the secondary, NU has ranked in the top 30 nationally in total defense both seasons and had the nation's No. 3 pass defense in 2025.

NEBRASKA (2023-25)
DiMichele has helped Nebraska rank in the top 30 nationally in total defense in each of his two seasons as the Huskers' assistant secondary coach. In 2025, DiMichele worked with a Husker secondary that ranked third nationally in pass defense. NU also ranked second nationally in fewest touchdown passes allowed (9). 

Nebraska held five opponents to fewer than 150 passing yards and 10 opponents to fewer than 200 passing yards in 2025. Against No. 23 USC, Nebraska held the Trojans to fewer than 150 passing yards for the first time in 83 games.

In 2024, Nebraska's defense ranked ninth nationally in first downs allowed, 17th in scoring defense and 18th in total defense.

DiMichele was an offensive analyst in 2023, when Nebraska ranked second in the Big Ten in rushing.

BEFORE NEBRASKA
TEMPLE: DiMichele began his coaching career under Matt Rhule at Temple in 2013, serving on Rhule’s staff for four seasons. In a testament to his coaching ability, DiMichele was then retained by three different Temple head coaches, spending 10 seasons at his alma mater from 2013 to 2022.

DiMichele’s first coaching job was as Temple’s offensive graduate assistant as a part of Rhule’s first staff in 2013. DiMichele was elevated to an assistant coaching position in 2014, when he coached the wide receivers. He then spent his final two seasons on Rhule’s staff as the Owls’ director of player development.

During his four seasons on Rhule’s staff, Temple recorded two of the three 10-win seasons in program history, played in consecutive bowl games for the first time and won the Owls’ second conference title and first in nearly 40 years.

DiMichele remained at Temple after Rhule left for Baylor, serving as the Owls’ offensive quality control coach and recruiting assistant in 2017. In 2018, he was Temple’s quarterbacks and inside receivers coach while also coordinating the recruiting efforts for the offense. DiMichele served as an offensive analyst in 2019 and 2020, and he was the Owls’ director of player personnel in 2021 and 2022.

PLAYING CAREER (TEMPLE)
A Pennsylvania native, DiMichele starred at Temple from 2006 to 2008, serving as team captain in 2007 and 2008 while earning team MVP honors in both of those seasons. DiMichele ended his career ranked fourth in Temple history with 5,024 career passing yards. He accounted for 45 total touchdowns during his career, including a school-record six touchdown passes in a game. DiMichele also ranked in the top five in Owl history for career 200-yard passing games (10) and single-season 300-yard passing games (4 in 2008).

DiMichele had professional stints in the National Football League and the Canadian Football League. He spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Calgary Stampeders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2009 before moving on to arena football. DiMichele was also selected in the 38th round of the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays.

He was a three-sport (football, basketball and baseball) standout for Sto-Rox High School in Pennsylvania. At Sto-Rox, DiMichele finished his career as the all-time leading passer in the history of the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL), breaking the mark of previous record holders Joe Montana, Dan Marino and Joe Namath, all of whom are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. DiMichele was inducted into the WPIAL Hall of Fame in 2011.

PERSONAL
DiMichele earned his degree in sport and recreation management from Temple in 2009.  He and his wife Kathy have two sons, Grayson, and Avery.
