Regular Season

Donny Longendyke started the first nine duals for the Huskers at heavyweight, compiling a 2-7 record. His wins came against North Carolina's Jake Barnhart and South Dakota State's J.J. Everard on the same day. Longendyke won four additional matches for a 6-11 record on the season.

Longendyke picked up a fourth-place finish at the Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open. He finished the season with one pin and two major decisions.

2011-12 (Redshirt)
Regular Season
Longendyke got his Husker career off to a good start, going 34-10 during his redshirt season in the heavyweight division, while recording a team-high 22 pins. He earned six top-five finishes in eight open tournaments, including a title at the York College Open. Longendyke took third at the UNK Loper Open, Quality Hotel Open, Viking-Warrior Open and Grand View Open. In addition, he won five matches by major decision during the season.

Before Nebraska
Ranked as the No. 1 heavyweight recruit in the country by InterMat, Longendyke finished his high school career by winning his second Minnesota Class AAA state championship with a record of 43-1 in 2010-11. A three-time state finalist, Longendyke set his high school's record for most pins and victories (184) in a career. He was perfect as a junior, finishing the year 47-0 to capture his first state title. On the national stage, Longendyke was a double All-American at the 2010 USA Wrestling Junior Nationals by placing second in Greco-Roman and sixth in freestyle. As a cadet in 2009, he also earned two All-America honors by winning the freestyle event and finishing third in Greco-Roman. Longendyke was the 2010 Northern Plains Regional champion in freestyle, and also claimed titles at the Central Regional tournament in both Greco-Roman and freestyle.

Personal
Donny is the son of Tom and Theresa Longendyke, and was born on June 28, 1993. Donny has four siblings, including three sisters Lindsey, Krish and Katie, and one brother Tommy. Donny has not declared a major at Nebraska.
