Andrew Wiens Season 2005-06

2006-Wiens wrestled to a 2-8 record in his first year of collegiate wrestling.  The best performances in tournaments by Wiens were 1-2 performances at the Harold Nichols Open on Nov. 12 and the Brand Open on Jan. 21.

 

Before Nebraska-Wiens was named the outstanding wrestler at <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>BeatriceHigh School all four years he wrestled for Coach Todd Fentress.  Wiens earned a state championship and a career record of 148-16 for BHS.  A two-time academic all-state student, Wiens was also a three-year letterwinner in football and lettered in track. 

 

Personal-Born in Lincoln, Neb., on May 8, 1987, Andrew is the son of Scott and Brenda Wiens.  He has one sister, Shely, 28, and two brothers, Jarrod, 17, and Josh, 25.  He was an honor roll student at BeatriceHigh School and did not declare a major at Nebraska.
