2011 • Senior Season
Brittnee Habbib captured second-team All-America honors in her final season at Nebraska, while helping the Huskers to a fourth-place finish at the 2011 NCAA Super Six. Habbib, a native of North York, Ontario, Canada, remained a valuable bars, beam and floor specialist for the Huskers. She capped her senior campaign by taking fifth on beam (9.775) for the Huskers at the 2011 NCAA Championships to earn All-America honors and help NU advance to the Super Six.

Habbib also contributed a clutch performance on floor at the 2011 NCAA Championships. She posted a 9.80 in semifinal competition and received a season-high 9.825 at the Super Six Team Finals after only competing on floor three other times during the course of the season.

She totaled four event titles on the season, including one on bars and three on beam. Habbib recorded a career-high 9.85 on beam and 9.825 on floor as a senior. In addition, she posted a season-high score of 9.85 on bars.

Habbib also led NU in the community and the classroom, earning second-team academic All-Big 12 accolades, while earning a spot on the Big 12 Winter Community of Champions. She also claimed spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters.

2010 • Junior Season

Habbib opened her junior campaign in stellar form, earning the first event titles of her career against Washington. She took first on bars (9.85), and tied for first on beam (9.85). Her mark on beam tied her career-high score set in 2008. She totaled five individual titles on the year, highlighted with a 2010 Lexington Regional bars championship.

She earned season-high marks of 9.85 and 9.80 on bars and floor against Michigan. She took third on floor (9.775) against Missouri on Jan. 30 and posted a season-high 9.85 on floor against Oklahoma and TWU. She came in third on beam at the IGI Chicago Style Invite (9.80). She won her second bars crown of the year at the Masters Classic, tying her season-high score of 9.85. Habbib tied for third on beam (9.80) at Utah and also tied her season-high score of 9.85 on floor. She matched her then-career-high bars score of 9.875 against Iowa State on March 14. The mark earned her the third bars crown of her junior season. She also hit a 9.825 to take second on floor. She tied her season-high mark on beam (9.85) against Penn State on March 20.

Habbib produced a stellar performance on bars at the NCAA Lexington Regional on April 10, notching a 9.90 to claim the regional crown. She posted season-high marks of 9.90 on bars and 9.85 on beam in 2010.

In the classroom, Habbib captured first-team academic All-Big 12 accolades, while earning spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters.

2009 • Sophomore Season

Habbib consistently contributed on bars, beam and floor for NU in 2009. She posted a strong performance for Nebraska at Iowa State, taking second on floor (9.825). She tied her then-career-high of 9.875 on bars against Michigan, as she took second in the event. At UNO’s Classic hosted by Arizona State, Habbib notched a career-high 9.875 on floor. At the 2009 NCAA Southeast Regional, Habbib posted a beam score of 9.825 for eighth place.  

2008 • Freshman Season 
Habbib stepped up as a three-event competitor for Nebraska in her inaugural season, consistently contributing on bars, beam and floor, as well as vault earlier in the year. Habbib was a key contributor to NU's bars and beam lineups, where she achieved season highs of 9.85 on each event. As a floor worker, Habbib showed steady improvement, notching a season-best 9.725 on two occasions.

At the Big 12 Championship, Habbib appeared on three events and contributed score of 9.675 on beam and floor. In the South Central region, Habbib was ranked 17th on beam (9.835) and 28th on bars (9.77). At the conference level, Habbib took the No. 10 spot in the Big 12 beam standings, as well as ranking 14th on bars.

Before Nebraska

A senior high-performance gymnast, Habbib was a five-year member of the Canadian National Team with former Huskers Kylie Stone and Vanessa Meloche. Habbib was coached by former Olympic gold medalist Yelena Davydova and Ukrainian men's all-around champion Valery Yahchybekov at Gemini Gymnastics.

 

Habbib, who represented Canada at the 2006 World Championships, tied for fifth in the all-around and eighth on beam at the 2006 Canadian National Championships. She also helped the Canadian team to a third-place finish at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and notched a 15th-place all-around showing at the 2005 Pan Am Games.

 

Habbib was the 2006 recipient of the African Canadian Achievement Award in the youth division, in addition to several outstanding international achievement honors. Habbib was also the 2007 Harry Jerome Recipient for Youth in Athletics award.

 

Habbib was a 2007 graduate of Mary Ward Secondary School. She chose Nebraska over an offer from Utah.


Personal 

Brittnee Habbib was born Nov. 16, 1988 in North York, Ontario, Canada She is the daughter of Wayne and Lavern Habbib and has one brother, Dayne, and one sister, Monique. A communication studies major at Nebraska, Habbib was a two-time academic All-Big 12 selection and a four-time Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll member.
