2010 • Sophomore Season
Fyffe finished her second year with NU with career-high marks of 9.875 on vault and 9.80 on beam. She saw action on beam for the Huskers at Washington. Fyffe posted a season-high 9.70 on beam as the Huskers took on Minnesota and Illinois on Jan. 15. She competed on vault for the first time this season on January 30, receiving a score of 9.75. She added a season-high vault score of 9.80 at the Masters Classic. Fyffe posted a career-high mark of 9.875 to tie for second on vault against Iowa State on March 14. She was honored as a First-Team Academic All-Big 12 selection and earned her second spot on the Big 12 Commissioner's Fall and Spring Honor Rolls.
2009 • Freshman Season
Freshman Kristin Fyffe showed to be a consistent asset on vault and beam for NU in 2009. She posted a score of 9.80 on vault against Oklahoma and tied her career-high mark of 9.80 on beam at the Masters Classic. Fyffe continually improved over the course of the season, wrapping up the regular season with a career-high 9.825 on vault at Arizona State. At the 2009 NCAA Southeast Regional in Raleigh, N.C., she received a 9.80 on vault and a 9.725 on beam.
Before Nebraska
Fyffe competed for coach Trevor O'Hara at Queen City Gymnastics in Cincinnati. She lettered for coach Stacey Bailey at Anderson High School, where she captured the 2005 Ohio state beam title and earned both all-district and all-state distinctions in 2005. Fyffe was inducted into the Hall of Champions at Anderson High School that same year. At Nationals in 2006, she placed sixth on beam, eighth in the all-around and 12th on vault. Previously, she had claimed the 2006 Ohio J.O state vault championship. During the 2005 competitive year, Fyffe grabbed first-place finishes in the all-around, vault, and bars at the Ohio State Championships and went on to earn runner-up honors on vault at Nationals. In 2004, she competed as a Level 10 and a junior international elite, making appearances at the U.S. Classic, the American Challenge and the U.S. Coaches Cup. Fyffe also qualified for the J.O. National Team and took third in the all-around. In addition, she was a three-year member of the National TOPS team from 1998-2000 and a four-time national qualifier from 2003-2006.
Fyffe chose Nebraska over offers from Iowa State and Arkansas.
Personal
Kristin Fyffe was born June 19, 1990 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is the daugher of Dave and Greta Fyffe. A 2008 graduate of Anderson High School, Fyffe was a member of National Honor Society, Latin National Honor Society and the honor roll. Fyffe has not declared a major at Nebraska. She has one brother, Tommy, and two sisters, Kelly and Kathryn.
