Redshirt freshman Molly Ohnoutka will vie for time as a reserve competitor in <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska’s lineups after coming back from a knee injury that sidelined her for the entire 2007 season.
2007 ? Freshman Season
Ohnoutka redshirted in her first year as a Husker due to a knee injury suffered during her senior year of high school. Having undergone rehabilitation for a full year, Ohnoutka will look to join the Nebraska competitive lineup in 2008.
Before Nebraska
Ohnoutka competed for coaches Don Houlton and Barb Bottieri at Nebraska Gold Gymnastics, the same club as former Husker Michele Zabawa. Ohnoutka's Nebraska Gold team finished first at the Golden Invitational and third in the Nebraska state meet in her final year, while she took home the all-around title at the Golden Invitational in 2006. A Level 10 Junior Olympic Nationals qualifier, Ohnoutka placed first on vault at the 2005 Region IV Championships.
Personal
Ohnoutka was born March 22, 1988 in Omaha, Neb., and is the daughter of Terry and Kathy Ohnoutka. She has one sister, Amanda, and one stepsister, Elke. A 2006 graduate of MillardNorthHigh School, Ohnoutka was a member of the honor roll. She has not declared a major at Nebraska.
Ohnoutka chose Nebraska over offers from Western Michigan and SoutheastMissouriState.
