Winkelmann added depth to the Husker defensive unit, appearing in 20 matches as a true freshman • Totaled 18 digs on the season, with a season-high four digs against Weber State on Sept. 10 • Posted three digs against Jackson State on Dec. 1 • Recorded a service ace against Iowa on Oct. 19.
High School
Winkelmann was named to the Under Armour Girls’ High School All-America Watch List in 2010 and then led Hermann High School to its second Missouri Class 2 state title in three years and its fourth straight top-three finish • Was a four-year Class 2 all-state selection • Led the Bearcats to the state title with a .541 hitting percentage, 5.88 kills per set and nine aces in four matches • Hit the national scene in 2008 when she was named one of the top 25 sophomores in the country by Prepvolleyball.com after amassing 340 kills, 291 digs, 113 blocks and 45 aces on her way to leading Hermann to the state crown • Set Hermann’s school record in kills with 1,453, while also totaling 256 solo blocks, 224 aces and 885 digs • Excelled on the basketball court as well where she set the school’s scoring record during her junior season • Was named a Parade All-American on the hardwood, while also being named the ESPN RISE Gatorade Missouri Girls Basketball Player of the Year and Miss-Show Me-Basketball by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association • Scored 55 points in a single game and helped lead the Bearcats to state tournament appearances in each of her four seasons, including a 26-6 overall record as a senior and a runner-up finish at the state tournament after leading the team to a third-place finish in 2008.
