Devaney Center Cropped

Jill McWilliams entered the 2000 season with a new role after sharing the setting duties in Nebraska’s 6-2 offense in 1999. NU Coach John Cook decided to revert back to a 5-1 offense and use the more athletic Greichaly Cepero as the starter. In order to continue to take advantage of McWilliams’ consistent play, Cook has played her as a defensive specialist and a backup setter.

McWilliams averaged 0.91 digs per game as a back-row sub. She started five matches this season, and she played the entire Iowa State match at the setter position, posting a season-best 41 assists.
