A three-year starter on the left side for NU, senior Angie Oxley moved to the right side for the 2000 season when two-time All-American Nancy Meendering elected to redshirt after training with the U.S. Olympic Team in the off-season. Oxley provided the Huskers with solid numbers at the position, leading the team in digs with 2.87 per game en route to setting a new school record for career digs with 1,086.
Oxley also ranked second on the team with 35 service aces. She produced 1.92 kills per game on a .308 hitting percentage, which ranked 19th in the league.
Nicknamed "Stealth" by NU Coach John Cook, Oxley was a stabilizing force for the Huskers during the NCAA Tournament. Oxley produced 21 digs in Nebraska’s 3-2 win over South Carolina, a mark that is tied for ninth on NU’s all-time postseason chart. Oxley also combined for 3.09 digs per game, 2.09 kills per game and seven service aces in NCAA Tournament play.
